Octagon Quilt for Oliver!

So, I managed to put together the octagon crib size quilt again with Heather Ross fabrics---only this time with boyish fabrics for my soon to be born second son Oliver. I can't wait to free motion quilt again. Too much fun, but maybe I'll try and take it easier this time and spread it out over a couple of nights. This is such a fun pattern for me now that I've done this quilt so many times. The template set makes it really easy and it is such a great way to showcase fabrics when you don't want to cut them up too much. This is actually my fifth octagon quilt now... Guess you can say I like this design!

Could you tell me more about the octagon template set? I have been wanting to make a quilt like yours for a long time, but have not been able to figure out how to get started. Is yours machine pieced? Any insight you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

in regard to your broken walking foot. If you check eBay they may have one for you... But it does seem that it shouldn't have broken so soon... Hope the company replaces it.

Hello there, I have been following your blog on the sidelines, enjoying your challenges, both being a new "Aussie" and new mum in the bush. However I am beginning to feel like the mum who hasn't hear from the child in a while ... how are you? Hope all is okay and would really like to hear from you soon, just to know that all is good or as good as it can be.
