Help! My Quilt Bled!

Does anyone have any experience with using Synthrapol for getting the bleeding out of a quilt? I just finished a quilt for a friend of mine and wanted to prewash it to make sure that the red back wouldn't bleed, but it did! I did some searching online and ordered a bottle of Synthrapol to see if it will help remedy the problem. I sure hope so! Please let me know any of your experiences...

If this is fabric you've dyed then synthrapol product should work. If not there are standard products from Dylon we get in the supermarket here that you can used when you mix your coloured wash with your whites - I'm sure something like that would work. It'll be called something like Colour run remover... Let me know how you get on.

Have you tried a dye magnet? The are at the grocery store near the dryer sheets. They really work. I had a quilt and the black did bleed. It was several months before we tried the dye magnets and it removed the spots. You just put it in the wash. we now throw a couple of the sheet in with anything that might bleed. Hope this helps.
