Snow in June!

I wanted to post a few more pictures of Alexander and some quilting I've been working on, but Blogger is not cooperating with me today. Oh well, I managed to get these two pictures up of our latest snow storm here on the farm. I woke up early and was so surprised when I looked out the window that I ran back to wake up my husband. It was such a treat to have a little bit of snow! Lucky we don't have any lambs at the moment, so snow can only be a good thing right now to be able to gradually soak into the parched land.

On the Alexander front, things have been going MUCH much better. Now I know the difference between a baby that is truly upset and colicky and a normal baby. Ever since I went off of dairy he has been very good. The only problem we have now is that because he had such a struggle the first couple months, he didn't learn to fall asleep on his own. I did whatever I could to get him any sleep at all. Now, he is having to learn now and it has not been easy. For example, last night he decided he wouldn't go back to sleep so I was up for 2 and a half hours with him. Oh well, I have managed to get him to take regular morning naps although we still struggle through the afternoon nap. He is a live wire and always moving around. I took him over to a friend's house and he never stopped moving. She told me that I had a very active baby. "Really?", I said. She told me that some babies actually do sit still AND fall asleep on their own as well. Ha, no such luck here! It's going to get interesting as soon as he starts crawling, I'll have to have my eyes on him constantly.

On a quilty front, I Have actually been working on some things again. It's my therapy and I look forward to it so much... At the moment I am working with some fabrics by Urban Chicks called 1974. I think Urban Chicks are one of my favorite designers. My absolute FAVORITE is Denyse Schmidt--especially her Flea Market Fancy line that I do not have. If anyone knows where I can get some, please let me know...

I'm so glad that you are posting again. I've missed you. I'm glad that life with Alexander is getting better. Being addicted is a good thing.... and feel free to share photos of your little one as often as you like..... He is what you are majorly busy 'working on' for now.
