The Mess of Progress
Today I thought I would post on my progress with Peas and Carrots and show you my latest device for cutting. Last week I purchased a rotating cutting mat to make template cutting so much easier! I absolutely love it as it makes the cutting go so much faster. I have also starting cutting with the smallest rotary cutter (18mm) and I find it so much handier. I don't know if this is the "correct" way to cut, but it seems to work for me. Does anyone else use a rotating cutting mat?
As you can see my work space is the kitchen table. I really look forward to the day I have my own sewing room with a design board and place to put things, but that won't happen until we finish the ground level on our house.
We have been having some lovely rain the last couple of days, I know there are plenty suffering from flooding right now, but over here we are savoring every raindrop!
Don't forget to put your comment in for the magazine draw. I will be drawing names tomorrow(Sunday) night my time(Australia) so hopefully you can still get your name in before then!

I TOTALLY sympathize with the "no quilting space" dilemma! I've got the machine in the kitchen and the cutting table and the ironing board in the dining room, but all my fabric and projects upstairs in the bedroom! Here's hoping your new space is ready soon...
Don't feel bad - I use the dinning room table and when the older kids moved out I had my chance for a quilting room. But, I found I didn't like being out of the "traffic" area of the house!!! I do have my quilting frame in the upstairs room but still do all my sewing on the dinning room table!! Your mat looks handy.........
I've always thought the rotating cutting space was a good idea - good to hear some first hand experience with one.
I've been eyeing rotating cutting mats,so it's nice to hear a review of of one.
Glad you are getting rain - I know you need it in NSW.
Now that looks interesting, a rotating cutting mat. So glad to hear that "Home" is getting rain. Perhaps this will be the end of the drought.
I stand in awe of your patience with templates - I'd be pitcin' them behind the couch after 10 minutes. Beautiful blocks!
Glad you are getting some rain! I love my small rotating cutting mat. I always make my triangle squares a bit oversized and then cut them down - the rotary mat is just perfect for this task.
