I've been fairly busy this past week travelling here and there which always seems to eat up a lot of time. But, I did happen to start my next quilt along quilt. This one is called "On a Whim" and the pattern is by Camille Roskelley. I ended up deciding to paper piece this pattern because it just seemed to go easier and more accurately for me. I finished up the paper piecing part today and am now ready to put blocks together! I'm looking forward to seeing how it comes together.
In other news, we did come up with a name for our Kelpie puppy! Thank you for all your suggestions! In the end we decided on naming him Teddy. This was partly because my husband's father was named Ted and since my husband used to work with his father every day when he was still alive, he thought it would be nice to be working with a Teddy again. Also, it's just cute. He seems to be a great pup and is fitting in quite well already. The boys have fun playing with him, but both get a little nervous when he starts nipping at their toes.
I just had to include a photo of Alexander asleep in his bed last night. He is going through a stage where he insists on falling asleep with the light on. I decided I would take advantage of the opportunity to photograph him when he is asleep. My husband and I never get tired of watching all the things they do in their daily activities, but the best is definitely watching them while they sleep. I hope they don't grow up too fast...

I adore the photo of your little guy asleep, so sweet! I also am wanting you on a whim blocks, they are great! I am wanting your stash :-)
How you decide which types of quilt block to paper piece? I have yet to find a good google answer to this question.
