Summer Progress

I finished the last block for my Summer in the City quilt this morning. Here is a photo of the layout before I sew the blocks together. I always go so slow when it gets to this stage. I still struggle with sewing long pieces together and adding borders. I am doing better as I have started learning why I was having troubles, but I still am so slow!

My 30's quilt fabric is still not here yet, so I have a little bit of time to finish this Summer in the City quilt. What do I do about borders??? I don't have much more chocolate brown left... Hmmm...

I really like the look of this quilt. The blocks with the green in them stand out heaps to the eye. Hopefully your material arrives soon.

Neat - I only got a charm pack (or 2) of that set of fabric. I made one set into circles... (My poor circle project is languishing...)

I like this very much. I also find the sewing of the rows together very tedious. Takes so much pinning! Maybe the chocolate brown would make a good narrow inner border and you could pink up one of the other colors (or pieces of all) in the outer border.

Wow, it really is neato. That chocolate brown really pops. I could tell it was going to be cool from just the small group of blocks you showed previously, but when they are all put together. A stunner!

I am thinking the same as Kay, a choc brown inner border and an outer border of one of the other colours... its coming together well, you are very busy sewing !!
