Blogger's Quilt Festival Fall 2012

Welcome to Blogger's Quilt Festival hosted by Amy's Creative Side, one of my favorite quilting events!

For my quilt entry I thought I would show my Spider Web quilt made in various aqua and orange colors.  This quilt is special to me in that most of the blocks were made from bee members from both the first and second bees that I ever participated in, Sew Australia Bee and Aqua and Orange Bee.  I was so glad that I finally plucked up the courage to participate in a bee!  I learned that bees are not about the work of making blocks for people, but mainly about meeting new people and learning new things.  It was my first time really getting involved with other quilters within the online community.

It was a lot of fun to make blocks for all my bee members throughout the year, but very fun to receive all my blocks back too!  If you've never participated in a bee I encourage you to do so!

This quilt was quilted by me on the long arm.  I chose a spider web pattern just for the fun of putting spiderwebs on a Spider Web quilt!  This quilt is currently the snuggling partner for both of my two young boys--alternatively...

I adore spiderwebs, but especially with the colors you chose, it's just beautiful! Glad that the bee worked out so well for you!

It's lovely! I haven't had the courage to join a bee yet but your spiderwebs turned out so beautifully...

Love your spiderwebs - orange and aqua are such a great colour combo. I would love to join in a bee like the Sew Australia one.
