Heather Ross Buses
Thanksgiving turned out to be a very nice event this year. We celebrated with two other American couples that live in town here and had the usual Thanksgiving food. Hard to imagine that in the size town we live in there are this many Americans! We were lucky too that the weather cooperated and gave us rain instead of hot hot weather like it had been last week during shearing.
Yesterday I spent the day trying to figure out how to make a shirt. I made this for my best friend's son for Christmas and really tried hard to work out how to make it as neat as possible. I had been told that collars are tricky things, so now I understand what it is all about. I love the way this turned out and I love Heather Ross's fabrics. I love the nostalgia of them and how each fabric reminds me of something of growing up in the 70's. This one happens to be of VW buses. I remember going to the VW car dealership (my mom always drove a Rabbit) when I was a kid and my brother and I loved looking at the buses and dreaming about how cool it would be to travel around in one of them. We never had one though...

That's a very cute shirt! Once you make a collar, it will be even easier the next time...
That is a darling shirt!
Hi, I'm also from Michigan tho when I married I didn't move quite so far away....just to IL. =) I found your blog thru a search for "Amy Butler quilt" or something similar and have been going thru your archives for the past few minutes....your quilts are amazing!! I'm about to embark on my first quilting adventure and am looking for inspiration. You're inspiring, girl! I've also enjoyed reading about your travel and transplant adventures.
So anyway....just thought I'd say "hi". =)
Stunning shirt! Love that fabric- I love Heather Ross fabrics myself- I totally know what you mean. So glad you had a nice thanksgiving!
