Weekender Bag Finished

Wow! I finished the Amy Butler Weekender Bag this morning. I have to say that this has been a slow going project, but for the main part very enjoyable. The part I didn't like was sewing the piping on the bag. It was very tricky to sew close to the piping but not over it and thus keeping it even all the way around the bag. I sewed so many stitches in this bag that it should be quite durable! This bag holds a lot and will actually be perfect for short trips as well as for using as a carry on bag on the plane journey home.

Did anyone see the meteor showers last night? I went outside last night and saw one go completely across the sky and turn green, then blue then white! It was quite amazing actually! Maybe I'll get lucky and see more tonight...

Wow, great bag! It looks really complicated. Darn, I forgot to check out the meteors last night, and I was even up at 2:30 to bring in Roogrr because he was barking up a storm.

The bag turned out really well!! I put piping on my Christmas stocking and it is so hard to get it nice and even thats for sure, but your piping looks great!

Wow! Looks absolutely marvelous! One would never know that you struggled a bit with the piping. How fun to have such a neat bag to use that you made yourself!

Great bag. I use a zipper foot for applying piping. I think you can get a special piping foot for most machines.

wow, it looks cool, I wish I could have a similar one. How did you get the body of the bag stiff?

your bag looks fantastic. BTW thanks for commenting on my blog. If you hadn't I wouldn't have found your blog and I love it!

The stiffness comes from the Timtex, which is a great product. I just wish it wasn't so expensive!!! Get it in a roll from Joann's and use one of their coupons!
